Help Support Our Research on Cancer, Diabetes, and Obesity

The United States experienced an unfortunate boom in cancer and diabetes diagnoses in 2010: more than 1.5 million new cases of cancer and 1.9 million new cases of diabetes. These statistics, from the National Cancer Institute and the American Diabetes Association, and others emphasize the importance of the research under way at the Pioneer Valley Life Sciences Institute.

Since the Institute opened in 2002, our scientists have expanded their understanding of these and other human diseases through studies that could one day lead to new therapies. Research at PVLSI is largely supported by funds from our founding partners, competitive state and national grants, and private donations from people interested in furthering this very important work.

There are a number of ways you can support the Institute's efforts. Financial contributions directly influence our scientists' ability to pursue promising studies. Because we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your donation is tax deductible. You can also support our efforts by volunteering to help us raise funds, or perhaps you would like to establish a research fund as a memorial to a loved one who lived with cancer or diabetes. To discuss specific options for making a financial contribution or volunteering with the Institute, please contact Dr. Paul Friedmann at 413.794.0653 or by e-mailing, paul.friedmann@baystatehealth.org
